PRODUCED WATER, OILFIELD WASTE RESEARCH & ENVIRONMENTAL FORENSICS

The team at Medusa Analytical are nationally recognized leaders in the study and characterization of hydraulic fracturing and drilling fluids. Since 2011, our research has centered on two critical priorities: Understanding the environmental impacts of unconventional oil and gas development and creating effective strategies for remediation.

Over the past decade, we have collected and analyzed more than 1,500 groundwater samples from private, public, and agricultural wells across Texas (Alpine High, Barnett, Cline, and Eagle Ford shales), Pennsylvania (Marcellus Shale), and Louisiana (Haynesville Shale). In addition, we have examined more than 400 samples of produced oilfield waste, generating an unmatched body of data and insight into the chemical and environmental challenges of the energy industry.

This work has resulted in over 50 peer-reviewed publications and attracted more than $3.5 million in research funding from private donors, government agencies, and industry partners to evaluate advanced multimodal recycling processes for produced water across multiple shale basins.

Beyond research, our expertise is trusted in the courtroom. We have conducted numerous peer-reviewed studies and served as expert scientists in litigative matters, providing precise point-source analyses of hazardous chemicals and waste-related contamination.

At Medusa Analytical, our record speaks for itself:
Rigorous science, proven partnerships, and trusted expertise where it matters most.
